The Lakers are a basketball team located in the city of Los Angeles, California. The Lakers share the city and their arena, Staples Center with the Los Angeles Clippers. Though they share they same arena, they don't share the same success. The Lakers have won 17 NBA championsships, while the Clippers have won 0 NBA championships. To make matters worse they have never been to the NBA Finals or even the Conference Finals. The Lakers are tied for most championships in NBA history with the Boston Celtics, their biggest rival. The Lakers and Celtics have had many down to the wire games. Both teams were good in the 60's and 70's, but they were both very dominate in the 80's. Their latest championship meeting was in 2010, which the Lakers won, led by the great Kobe Bryant. Kobe was the greatest Laker to ever play. What makes this an incredible feat is that the Lakers have had a lot of legends, like Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, James Worthy, George Mikan, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Lebron James, Shaquille O'Neal, Anthony Davis, and many more. The Los Angeles Lakers won the 2020 NBA championship, which was very impressive. Disney World was hosting the playoffs in a "bubble". Every player that entered the Bubble hadn't played 5v5 basketball in months. The Lakers started off slow but made an impressive run to the NBA Finals where they beat the Miami Heat, led by Jimmy Butler, and became NBA Champions. The Finals MVP was none other than the King, Lebron James. Lebron had led the Lakers to their first playoffs since 2013 and won the championship. Lebron had a lot of help. He had help from Anthony Davis, Rajon Rondo, Alex Caruso, Kentavious Caldwell Pope, and more. The Lakers had a disapoiting season last year due to injuries but this year with their new team they are ready to return back to the NBA Finals and win the Larry O'Brien Trophy.
